KENT, Wash. — Cmdr. Frank Pierce assumed the duties and responsibilities as commanding officer of the Coast Guard Response Boat – Medium Project Resident Office from Cmdr. Greg Rothrock, RB-M PRO’s previous commanding officer, during a change-of-command ceremony in Kent, Wash., June 18, 2014.
The change-of-command ceremony was presided over by Rear Adm. Joseph Vojvodich, Coast Guard program executive officer and director of acquisition programs..

Pierce’s previous role was the executive officer of RB-M PRO. Pierce was not relieved of his executive officer duties, but was given the additional role of commanding officer.
Rothrock will report to U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C. as program reviewer.
The RB-M PRO is made up of 31 people, with locations in Marinette, Wisconsin, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and in Kent. The crew consists of military enlisted members, officers, civilian government service employees, and civilian contracted support personnel.
The change-of-command ceremony is a time-honored tradition which formally restates to the officers and crew of the command the continuity of the authority vested in the commanding officer. This unique military ritual represents a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from one leader to the next.
