Coast Guard responds to vessel taking on water near Gold Beach, Ore.

Pacific Northwest Coast Guard NewsGOLD BEACH, Ore. — The Coast Guard responded to a vessel taking on water near Gold Beach, Wednesday.

Coast Guard Group North Bend received a mayday from the crew of the fishing vessel Annie Marie at approximately 4:15 a.m., reporting the vessel was taking on water and in danger of sinking. A 47-foot motor lifeboat crew was launched from Coast Guard Station Rogue River, which found the Annie Marie off-shore of Gold Beach.

The Coast Guard crew delivered a dewatering pump to the vessel. After the Annie Marie’s crew successfully dewatered the boat, they were safely escorted to Port Orford, Ore. There were no injuries reported during the incident.
