LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard hoisted and transferred a boater to safety after his vessel ran aground on the southeast side of Santa Rosa Island, Wednesday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received a call at 1 a.m., from an individual aboard the 32-foot fishing vessel, Western Warrior, reporting that the vessel had run aground and needed immediate assistance.
A MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Forward Operating Base Point Mugu arrived on scene and safely hoisted the man and transported him to Oxnard Airport where EMS was waiting.
