Coast Guard responds to vessel aground in Rainbow Harbor

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Coast Guard responded to a report of the 130-foot schooner American Pride running soft aground inside Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, Calif. Thursday.

The Coast Guard dispatched a MH-65C Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles and a 41-foot Utility Boat from Coast Guard Station Los Angeles-Long Beach to the scene to monitor the situation.

The vessel was refloated by the rising tide with no injuries reported and no signs of pollution.

The cause of the vessel running aground is under investigation.
