PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The Coast Guard responded to a fishing vessel with ten people onboard that was taking on water approximately 27 miles east of Cape Henry, Va., Sunday evening.
An HH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter based out of Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., completed a hoist of all ten people onboard the fishing vessel Pura Vida at about 7:30 p.m. A C-130 Hercules airplane that was responding on another case diverted to provide air cover for the distressed vessel during the rescue.
