Coast Guard responds to plane crash in the vicinity of Haulover Beach, Florida

45 MiamiMIAMI — A boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Miami responded to a plane that crashed in the water at Haulover Beach, Florida, Tuesday morning.

Coast Guard 7th District Command Center watchstanders received notification from a good Samaritan at approximately 11:36 a.m. via VHF-FM radio that the single prop engine plane crashed and was sinking approximately 40-feet off Haulover Beach.

Watchstanders quickly launched a Coast Guard Station Miami 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew to assist as needed.  Upon arriving on scene, the Coast Guard confirmed the two people aboard were rescued by a good Samaritan.

No medical concerns were reported.
