KEY WEST, Fla. – Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) responded to a jet ski accident in Key West, Fla., Friday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received notification from the Key West Police Department at approximately 11:10 a.m. of an injured woman with a possible broken leg.
The injury was sustained while on a jet ski tour when the jet ski hit a wave and the woman and her husband fell off the jet ski.
A Coast Guard Station Key West 24-foot Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water boatcrew immediately responded and a Coast Guard 33-foot Special Purpose Craft – Law Enforcement Boatcrew transported Emergency Medical Services to the scene. The woman was ultimately transferred to the Lower Keys Medical Center for further evaluation.
FWC is investigating the accident.
