Coast Guard responds to disabled vessel near Long Beach breakwall

LONG BEACH, Calif. — The Coast Guard responded Tuesday afternoon to a 23-foot vessel that was disabled and adrift near the Long Beach breakwall.

Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received the call from the vessel around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday and dispatched a MH-65C Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles and a 25-foot Response Boat from Coast Guard Station Los Angeles-Long Beach.

The 25-foot Response Boat crew located the vessel in distress and safely towed them back to the Port of Long Beach.

Coast Guard Cutter George Cobb, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and Long Beach Life Guards also responded to the call.
