LOS ANGELES – The Coast Guard along with state and local agencies are responding to a sailboat which ran aground on Huntington Beach, Calif., July 2, 2013.

The owner of the 30-foot sailboat was reportedly sailing it from Long Beach, Calif., to San Diego, Calif., when it accidentally grounded approximately 1 mile north of Newport Beach, Calif., at around 9 p.m., July 1, 2013.

Once on scene, the Coast Guard coordinated removal of fuel products aboard the boat with Ocean Blue, a commercial pollution removal service, to prevent any fuel product from spilling onto the beach during salvage operations.

No pollution was reported.
