JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Coast Guard is responding to a 22-foot sinking vessel with four people aboard approximately 10-miles off the coast of Jacksonville Friday.
The Coast Guard received the distress call at approximately 12:30 p.m., after the vessel experienced engine failure and began to take on water.
A 47-foot motor life boat crew from Coast Guard Station Mayport, Fla., and a Navy search and rescue helicopter crew from Naval Station Mayport are en route to assist the people aboard the sinking boat.
All four boaters are reportedly wearing their life jackets.
