NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is overseeing the clean up of approximately 900 gallons of waste lube-oil that discharged into the 17th Street Canal near Metairie, Louisiana, Wednesday.
The Coast Guard received notification of an unknown substance later identified as waste lube oil in the 17th Street Canal, which leads to Lake Pontchartrain, at 10:22 a.m., Tuesday.
