Coast Guard responding to medical emergency in Dinsmore

MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif- A  Coast Guard Air Station Humboldt Bay HH-65C helicopter is responding to the Dinsmore area to transport a 60 year-old woman who is complaining of respiratory difficulties.

The Coast Guard was notified Wednesday afternoon of a woman with a medical condition who is stuck her home due to snow. No other medical agencies are available to effect the rescue, and ground crews will not be able to reach her home for up to three hours because of recent snowfall.

The Coast Guard is planning to transport the patient to St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, CA.
