Coast Guard responding to capsized fishing vessel in Boston

BOSTON – The Coast Guard is responding to a capsized vessel at the Boston Fish Pier, in Boston, Monday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Boston received a report at 5 a.m. Monday, that the 55-foot fishing vessel Miss Brielle was partially capsized at its moorings at the pier.

There were no crewmembers aboard the Miss Brielle.

Pollution responders from Coast Guard Sector Boston arrived on scene and found a light sheen on the surface.

A containment boom was placed around the Miss Brielle.

Also responding are members from:

  • Massachusetts State Police
  • Massachusetts Environmental Police
  • MassPort

The incident is under investigation.

Sector Boston is in contact with the vessel owner and continues to work with port partners to safely ensure that the threat of pollution is mitigated, that further release is prevented, and there is no impact to the boating public.
