Coast Guard responding to a car in water near Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – The Coast Guard is responding to a report of a car in the water near the Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida, Wednesday.

It is unknown if there were people in the car when it went into the water or why the car went into the water.

A boatcrew aboard a 25-foot Response Boat – Small from Coast Guard Station Mayport and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah, Georgia, are on scene searching for a possible person or people in the water.

Also assisting with the search are the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and the Navy.
