Coast Guard rescues woman after personal watercraft accident near Breezy Point

NEW YORK – The Coast Guard rescued one person from the water following a personal watercraft accident near the Breezy Point area of Rockaway Beach, New York, Sunday.

A person out on the water put out a broadcast via VHF-FM radio channel-16 at 3:40 p.m. to report the accident and request for help.

Coast Guard Cutter Bonito arrived on scene shortly after and retrieved the 19-year-old female from the water. The Coast Guard contacted the FDNY and transported the woman to FDNY Marine 3, who then brought the woman to awaiting EMS at a nearby pier.

The woman was reported to be in stable condition at the time of transfer.
