TAMPA, Fla. – Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station Cortez rescued two people from beneath Tampa Bay’s Sunshine Skyway bridge, Friday, after a 16-foot pleasure craft became partially submerged.
In response to the call of boaters in distress beneath the Sunshine Skyway bridge, Coast Guard Station Cortez crewmembers launched a 25-foot response boat and located two people on a piling, beneath span 75 of the bridge, with their 16-foot partially submerged vessel nearby.
The two rescued boaters are reportedly in good condition.
