Coast Guard Rescues Two After Kayak Island Plane Crash

CORDOVA, Alaska – For the second time in less than a week a Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak crew that is forward deployed to Cordova,AK has rescued the victims of a plane crash.

Two men were rescued from the beach at Kayak Island, 62 miles southeast of Cordova on May 8, 2011 by the Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew after the Coast Guard was alerted by the Alaska National Guard of their distress.

The Coast Guard Crew rescued the men and returned them to Cordova.
