Coast Guard Rescues Three From Grounded Vessel

NEW ORLEANS – A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station New Orleans airlifted three men off of a vessel that had run aground 5-miles south of Delacroix, La., today.Earlier in the day, a watchstander st Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call from one of the men on the small sport fishing vessel that had run aground near Little Lake, as the tides began to ebb. Due to the vessel’s location in shoal water, an HH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station New Orleans was dispatched.

The aircrew successfully hoisted the three men and transported them safely to Delacroix, La., in good condition.
