Coast Guard rescues missing hunter near Queets River, Wash.

Pacific Northwest Coast Guard NewsASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard rescued a 21-year-old hunter missing near Queets River, Wash., Monday.

Coast Guard Sector Columbia River received a request for assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office after the woman failed to appear at a pre-planned pick up site at Yahoo Lake near Queets, Wash., Sunday.

An MH-60 helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria was launched to aid searchers and spotted the woman approximately nine miles from Yahoo Lake at 6 p.m. She was taken to Forks, Wash., uninjured where Jefferson County Sheriff’s personnel were waiting.
