HOUSTON — The Coast Guard rescued a mariner near the Bolivar ferry landing in Galveston, Texas, Saturday morning.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a request from a mariner stating he was in need of medical assistance after his vessel struck a rock due to poor visibility near the Bolivar ferry landing.
A Coast Guard Station Galveston 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew was launched to the scene and transported the mariner to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Sector Field Office Galveston. The mariner was reported to be in stable condition.
Weather on-scene was reported as 1-foot seas and 9 mph winds.
