Coast Guard rescues man who had fallen overboard

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued a man who had fallen overboard from his vessel in the Atchafalaya River near Morgan City, Louisiana, Monday.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a notification Monday from a Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Morgan City 29-foot Response Boat-Small boatcrew of a pleasure craft seen under power and unmanned in the river.

After inspecting the vessel the boatcrew discovered the owner of the vessel in the water at 6:53 p.m. and recovered him.

The boatcrew took the pleasure craft in tow and brought it and the owner back to Berwick Bay boat launch at 7:35 p.m.

The man was reported in good condition.
