Coast Guard Station Freeport 25-Foot Response Boat-Small File Photo

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard rescued a man from the Brazos River near Freeport, Texas, Thursday evening.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report of a person being swept down the Brazos River after his vehicle entered the water. Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a Coast Guard Station Freeport boat crew to the scene. An Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was also diverted to assist.

The Station Freeport boat crew arrived on scene and rescued the driver from the water. The man was transported to Station Freeport.

No injuries were reported.
