Coast Guard rescues injured girl after personel watercraft accident

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Coast Guard rescued a 17-year-old girl after she was hit by a personal watercraft Wednesday evening in Sinepuxent Bay.

The girl was riding on a personal watercraft with two others when she fell off and a second personal watercraft hit her, causing head and neck injuries.

A Station Ocean City 21-foot response boat crew arrived on scene at 8:09 p.m., rescued the girl and took her to a nearby dock. A Maryland State Police Trooper 4 helicopter crew then transported her to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

The Coast Guard boat crew reported that the girl was conscious and responsive.
