JUNEAU, Alaska — The Coast Guard responded to a mayday call early this morning from stranded hunters south of Dillingham.
A rescue helicopter from Air Station Kodiak responded to the call from two boats that had been overcome by ice.
A 16-foot skiff boat with three people aboard was towing a 19-foot skiff boat with 2 people aboard to Dillingham. The boaters had been hunting when they became stranded.
The boaters were airlifted to a medical facility in Dillingham and were treated for hypothermia.
