SEATTLE – The Coast Guard received a report of an injured hiker south of Cape Flattery near Neah Bay, Wash., at 11:43 a.m., Sunday.
Coast Guard Station Neah Bay and local emergency personnel launched a mobile land unit but were unable to rescue the hiker due to the difficult terrain.
Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew at 12:41 p.m., and arrived on scene at 1:15 p.m.
The hiker was then hoisted on board and transferred to Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles.
