Coast Guard rescues fisherman near North Bend

NORTH BEND, Ore. – The Coast Guard evacuated an injured man from a 280-foot fishing vessel 20 miles off-shore from here at approximately 5 p.m. Sunday.

The man was hoisted from the fish catcher/processor American Triumph, homeported in Seattle, after he suffered injuries and was rendered unconscious.
The crew of a Coast Guard Air Station North Bend HH-65C Dolphin helicopter was launched to assist. The helicopter crew assisted the man and then transported him Air Station North Bend where he was delivered to the Bay Area Hospital by an emergency medical team for further treatment.
