CHARLESTON, S.C.- The Coast Guard rescued a boater after his vessel ran aground on the Charleston North Harbor Jetties, Thursday night.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Charleston received notification from the boater, Guss Hudson, that his 26-foot sailing vessel had ran aground and was taking on water at approximately 6:12 p.m. Thursday.
Coast Guard Station Charleston deployed a 25-foot Response Boat-Small rescue crew and a 41-foot Utility Boat-Large rescue crew along with an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter rescue crew from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah, Ga., to assist Hudson.
The Coast Guard rescue crew arrived on scene at approximately 7 p.m. and safely recovered Hudson from the water.
Hudson had no reported injuries.
