SEATTLE — The Coast Guard rescued a missing 60-year old man off of Bainbridge Island’s Restoration Pt., Monday, May 27, 2013.
Rescued was Norman Dormat, 60.
At approximately 1:04 A.M., Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound received a report from the Blake Island State Park Rangers of an overdue 8-foot boat transiting from Manchester Pier to Blake Island State Park.
The Coast Guard launched a HH-65D Dolphin helicopter Coast Guard from Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., and a 45-foot motor life boat from Coast Guard Station Seattle.
At approximately 5:50 A.M., the helicopter crew located the 8-foot boat along the southeast point on Bainbridge Island. The boat crew from Station Seattle arrived on scene shortly after to transport Dormat to Manchester Pier where medical assistance was waiting.
