Coast Guard rescues 6 people off Florida coast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Coast Guard rescued 6 people off a disabled sail boat approximately 30-miles east of Ponce de Leon Inlet, Fla. Sunday.

An HH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter air crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., rescued 6 people from the sail boat Karma shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday 30-miles east of Ponce de Leon Inlet after it became disabled due to heavy weather.

All 6 people were taken to Melbourne International Airport.
