NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued five people in distress due to flooding in the Baton Rouge area, Saturday.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans rescued two adults and their 6-year-old child from their home and evacuated them to the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.
A second MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew rescued two adult women in the Baton Rouge area and evacuated them to the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport as well.
The Coast Guard continues to support as requested by local authorities.
