Coast Guard rescues 3 swimmers near Kent Island in Chesapeake Bay

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard rescued three swimmers after they drifted away from their anchored boat off the coast of Kent Island Monday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a call at approximately 2:45 p.m. from a person aboard the Speak Easy reporting three men were drifting away from the boat and needed assistance, and they were not able to operate the boat to retrieve them.

A crew aboard a 25-foot Response Boat – Small from Coast Guard Station Annapolis arrived on scene and brought the men aboard their boat. The men were transported back to their boat.

No injuries were reported.
