CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard rescued three people who were clinging to a capsized boat near the Queen Isabella Causeway Sunday afternoon.
A good Samaritan called Coast Guard Station South Padre Island at about 1:30 p.m., reporting that they saw a boat capsized near the bridge with three people in the water.
Station South Padre Island crews coordinated with Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders and launched the station’s 33-foot law enforcement boat crew to rescue the boaters.
The three people were picked up 15 minutes later, at 1:44 p.m., wearing life jackets and clinging to their boat.
