
Coast Guard 29-Foot Response Boat-Small File Photo
CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard rescued three people from the water Saturday after their boat capsized and sank in Jericho Creek.
At 11:09 a.m., Coast Guard Sector Charleston Command Center watchstanders received a 911 relay from Charleston County Dispatch stating a skiff capsized with three people aboard.
A Coast Guard Station Georgetown 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew launched to assist Midway Fire Rescue who were on scene searching. A Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was also diverted to assist.
The RB-S crew arrived on scene 11:59 a.m., recovered the three boaters and transported them to Hagley Landing where EMS were waiting.
No injuries were reported.
