Coast Guard Rescues 2 Stranded Boaters

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued two people from a 17-foot pleasure craft southeast of the Mississippi River Gulf this morning.

The Coast Guard received a cell phone call for assistance from Todd Dolce of Metairie and Danny Mattingly of Kenner at 11:45p.m. last night reporting their grounded boat.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to rescue the two men. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted both people and transported them to Lakefront Airport where they were met by their friend.
