Coast Guard rescues 2 people in Delaware Bay

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard rescued two people today aboard a 23-foot boat taking on water near the 14-foot Bank Light in Delaware Bay near the Maurice River.

The Coast Guard received a call at 3:14 p.m. from a crewman aboard the Sea Wolf reporting they were taking on water and needed assistance.

Rescue boat crews from Coast Guard Stations Cape May, N.J., Fortescue, N.J., and the New Jersey State Police arrived on scene and provided dewatering pumps to the crew aboard the Sea Wolf.

The flooding was brought under control and a boat crew from Sea Tow arrived on scene and is towing the boat and its crew to Long Reach Marina in the Maurice River near Port Norris, N.J.
