Coast Guard rescues 2, good Samaritan rescues 2, search for 1 near Breezy Point, Md.

Mid Atlantic Coast Guard NewsBALTIMORE — The Coast Guard rescued two people, a good Samaritan rescued two people and a search is currently underway for one remaining person after the boat they were aboard capsized 15 nautical miles south of Annapolis, Md., near Breezy Point, Md., Saturday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore received a call at 3:30 a.m. from a crewmember aboard a fishing boat reporting they rescued two people who were clinging to a crab pot and they stated there were three more people, who were aboard their boat when it capsized, missing.

A crew aboard a 27-foot Utility Boat from Coast Guard Station Oxford, Md., arrived on scene and rescued two more of the people. A search continues for the remaining person.

A crew aboard a UTB from station Oxford, a crew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat – Medium from Coast Guard Station Annapolis, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., a Maryland Natural Resources Police boatcrew, a crew aboard a Maryland State Police helicopter and a Calvert County Fire Rescue crew responded to the search.
