MIAMI – Crewmembers from the Coast Guard Cutter Chandeleur rescued two men from the water after their vessel caught fire near Government Cut in Miami Wednesday.

Jonathon Dedard and Vladamir Gomez made a distress call from their 56-foot vessel, Lady Francis, around 7:45 p.m. to report their vessel was on fire about two miles from Government Cut. The cutter Chandeleur was in the area conducting patrols when crewmembers noticed distress flares and responded to the Lady Francis.
