Coast Guard rescues 2 from plane crash in Everglades

65 MiamiMIAMI — The Coast Guard rescued two people from a downed Piper Seneca aircraft Friday at 11:45 a.m. about 23-miles west of Fort Lauderdale.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami was in the area, heard the radio call and diverted from their patrol. The crew arrived on scene around 11:55 a.m., hoisted the two individuals and transported them to awaiting emergency medical services at the air station with no reported injuries.
