Coast Guard rescues 2, cat from Isaac flood waters

America's Heartland Coast Guard NewsNEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued two people and their cat in LaPlace Thursday.

Murry Daniels and his wife were hoisted aboard a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans helicopter from their flooded building in Frenier Landing.

The two people and their pet were brought back to Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans in good condition.

Coast Guard search and rescue crews continue to search the greater New Orleans area for people in distress after Hurricane Isaac passed through the area.
