CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard rescued two people from a disabled sailing vessel near the Folly River Entrance, Wednesday.
A Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew hoisted the two boaters and transported them to Charleston Executive Airport with no medical concerns.
At 10:45 p.m., Coast Guard Sector Charleston command center watchstanders received a call from the 49-foot sailing vessel Yellowjacket, stating their vessel was disabled with two people aboard.
A Coast Guard Station Charleston 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew launched to assist but were unable to reach the vessel due to water depth.
The owner is making arrangements to salvage the vessel.
