Coast Guard rescues 1 near Cape May, N.J.

CAPE MAY, N.J. – The Coast Guard rescued a man after the 8-foot boat he was aboard sank near the North Wildwood Bridge Wednesday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 8:55 p.m. from a member of Sea Tow reporting they received a call from a man stating his boat sank and he needed assistance.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May arrived on scene and rescued the man who was found clinging to a day board.

The boat crew transferred the man to emergency medical personnel awaiting nearby on shore.
