Coast Guard rescue two stranded hikers at Hug Point Park, Oregon

SEATTLE ─ The Coast Guard rescued two hikers stranded on rocks at Hug Point State Park in Arch Cape, Ore., Sunday.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Ore., transported the two hikers to Cannon Beach, Ore., where local emergency medical services awaited them.

Watcherstanders at Coast Guard Sector Columbia River received a report at approximately 11:37 a.m, of two hikers that became stranded while hiking on the rocks by the incoming tide.

There were no injuries reported.
