Coast Guard responds to disabled vessel 40 miles off the coast

BOSTON- The Coast Guard is responding to a disabled vessel 40 miles southeast of Nantucket.

The crew of seven aboard the fishing vessel Diligence notified the Coast Guard at 3 a.m., that their engine was disabled.

Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England is diverting the Coast Guard Cutter Grand Isle to the Diligence. The Grand Isle will then tow the Diligence to Buzzards Bay where they will arrange to be picked up by commercial salvage.

There have been no reports of injuries at this time.
