Coast Guard repatriates 10 Cuban migrants

7th Coast Guard District NewsMIAMI — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Knight Island repatriated 10 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba, Thursday.

While on patrol, a Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144A Ocean Sentry aircrew located a rustic vessel with 10 Cuban migrants south of Key West, Fla. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Kodiak Island arrived on scene and embarked the migrants without incident.

Once aboard a Coast Guard cutter, migrants are provided food, water, shelter and basic medical care.

The Knight Island is 110-foot patrol boat homeported in Key West.
