CAPE MAY, N.J. — The U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Board of Advisors is holding their semi-annual meeting at Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, Nov. 13, 2014, to review and validate the vision, mission, strategic plan and purpose of recruit training.
The board provided input and support to several training center initiatives including the training center’s changes to its physical fitness hold policies and the process for selecting and training potential company commanders who would be responsible for preparing recruits for service.
“As the sole accession point for the enlisted workforce, it is our duty to make sure that we have a physically fit, smartly disciplined and basically trained Coast Guard man or woman who is ready to live up to our core values,” said Cmdr. Joe Meuse, executive officer Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. “Here at the training center we maintain the Coast Guard’s standards, and we keep those standards safe. In order to do that, the support and advocacy of the board is crucial to our mission success.”
The meeting is scheduled to end Friday.
