Coast Guard recovers man near Cape May, N.J.

CAPE MAY, N.J. – The Coast Guard recovered a 51-year-old man aboard a 36-foot boat nine miles off the coast of Cape May Saturday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 8:41 a.m. from a crewmember aboard the Fish Hawk reporting a passenger hit his head and was unconscious.

A 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May arrived on scene and assumed performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the man.

The man was transported back to the station where he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel who pronounced him dead on arrival.
