BURLINGTON, Vt., – A Coast Guard boat crew pulled an Essex, Vt., woman from 42-degree water in Oakledge Park, Vt., today after she was found non-responsive in Lake Champlain.
Local police notified Coast Guard Station Burlington at about 4 p.m., that the woman was found facedown, and that the police couldn’t get to her.
The station launched a 25-foot response boat and arrived on scene about 20 minutes later. The boat crew recovered the woman and performed CPR on her during the transit back to the station, where emergency medical personnel were waiting to take over.
The woman was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she was resuscitated and placed on life support.
