Coast Guard, police, good Samaritan searching for 1 missing near Calcasieu Lake, Louisiana

Houston 65 PatrolHOUSTON — Coast Guard helicopter and boat crews, Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Department and Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department personnel are searching for a man who went missing Friday evening from a boat near Calcasieu Lake.

Missing is, Ronald Moore, a 44-year-old man, described as wearing a grey shirt when last seen.

About 4:19 p.m. Friday, Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a phone call from Cameron County Sheriff’s Department reporting that a good Samaritan called them to report that they witnessed a person being ejected from their boat and the person was heard yelling, but was not seen above the surface again.

Watchstanders launched Coast Guard Station Lake Charles boat crews and Coast Guard Air Station Houston air crews shortly after to search the area.

Boatcrews from Cameron Sheriff’s department, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department and Louisiana Fish and Wildlife are also searching the area.
