Coast Guard Pier in Monterey closed for repairs

Coast Guard District 11 NewsMONTEREY, Calif. – The Coast Guard Pier (also known as Coast Guard Wharf) in Monterey, a popular spot to watch marine wildlife, will be closed to public access from Nov. 21, 2011 until Jan. 31, 2012, to replace the perimeter fence along the harbor side of the pier.

The Pier is located between San Carlos Beach and Breakwater Cove Marina.

To prevent access and as a safety precaution, the main gate at the Pier’s entrance will remain locked during construction. The Coast Guard will make every effort to complete these repairs as quickly as possible and will announce the re-opening of the pier.
