Coast Guard, partner agencies searching for possible missing paddleboarder

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— Coast Guard and partnering agencies are searching for a possible missing 19-year-old male paddleboarder on the southeast side of Sanibel Island, Florida, Monday.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a report that a 6-foot white male had fallen off his paddleboard. Moments later, watchstanders received a report from Lee County Sherrif’s Office that the paddleboard was found ashore.

Crews from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach, Florida, Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Florida, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Air and Marine, Cape Coral, Florida, Police Department, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation are currently searching for the paddleboarder.
